Copper Bottom, But Better
Copper bottoms aren't a novelty in the mechanical keyboard world. However, due to high material costs and processing challenges, they've typically been reserved for premium keyboards. To make copper bottoms more affordable, we've spent over six months refining our copper processing techniques and finally figured out the most efficient way to utilize this material in keyboards. This achievement has also laid the foundation for our new Cu series, with the Neo75 · Cu marking its debut.
In our previous products, we used brass and copper solely on decorative weights. However, with the Neo75 Cu, we've crafted the entire bottom case from these materials. Compared to aluminum alloy, brass and copper produce a more solid and clean sound, though at a lower volume. To address this issue and ensure consistent typing sound across the keyboard, we've added an aluminum battery compartment and four stainless steel internal weights. These design elements, combined with the ball-catch structure and our innovative gaskets, maximize the unique sound profile that a copper bottom can deliver.
Appearance Design
The Neo75 Cu features a non-exploded 75% layout with a distinctive orbit badge that highlights its design theme. Each kit includes a complementary badge matching your chosen bottom case material. You can position this badge in either the top right or top left corner, or replace it with an extra key, based on your preference.
As the centerpiece of the design, we wanted to showcase the copper bottom from every angle. To achieve this, we crafted a curved facet on the side, revealing the copper base between the top case and the battery compartment. This striking color contrast is also visible from the back and front side.
On the back, a circular accent badge serves as the design's focal point, highlighting the Neo75's design theme. This badge comes in three styles: "Orbit," "Vortex," and "Nova." Each style is available in golden, silver, and black colors.
Ball-Catch Structure + Magnetic Connectors
We've retained our highly praised ball-catch structure and magnetic connectors. Now you can tune your keyboard anytime, anywhere - without the hassle of cables or screws. Simply press and lift to open the case effortlessly, no tools needed.
Dual-Mounting System
Gasket Mount
We've upgraded our gaskets once again, making them larger and thicker. These enhanced gaskets securely position the PCB and plates while minimizing potential horizontal shifts after assembly. Additionally, they better reduce vibration transmission, which minimizes case ping and prevents vibration in foam-free builds.
Isolated Bottom Mount
Bottom mount and other hard-affixed structures have recently fallen out of favor due to their negative impact on typing feel and sound from lack of vibration absorption. However, the Neo75 Cu's high-density copper bottom effectively suppresses these vibrations, allowing us to revive this once-popular style with improvements.
We've innovatively combined gasket and bottom mount by wrapping the mounting screws with gaskets. This modification eliminates unwanted noise caused by direct contact between internal components and the case. It also ensures that the copper bottom's distinctive acoustic properties are fully expressed.
Be sure to try it out and experience the unique typing feel and crisp sound profile created by the combination of the copper bottom and bottom mounting style.
