MK65MX — the versatile 65% PCB for ISO and ANSI builds

The MK65MX is a versatile 1.6mm Non-Flex-Cut 65% wired hot-swap PCB designed as a replacement or upgrade option for a broad range of common 65% O-ring keyboards. Instead of being manufacturer-specific, the MK65MX relies on standard hole pattern and Unified C5 daughterboard compatibility. Fully QMK, VIA, and VIAL compatible, with per-key RGB and all the important layout options. Designed by Quark.

Layout flexibility without compromise

The MK65MX supports both ISO and ANSI layouts on a single PCB — with extensive multi-layout options for the main areas:

  • ISO + ANSI layout support — perfect for DE-ISO, UK-ISO, or US-ANSI
  • Split left shift + big ANSI left shift
  • Split backspace + regular backspace
  • Stepped capslock
  • 6.25U and 7U spacebar — compatible with most spacebar sizes

Case compatibility

The MK65MX has been tested with a range of common 65% cases:

✅ Tested compatible:

  • Kraze
  • Kafka
  • Mode Sixtyfive R1 / 2021 (without silicone insert)
  • Mode Sixtyfive R2 / 2025
  • Mode Encore
  • AIS65
  • Block67 R2
  • Keycult No1/65
  • Keycult No2/65
  • IRON165
  • Haven65
  • and most likely many more!

⚠️ Most likely compatible (untested):

  • Krush65

❌ Tested incompatible:

  • KBDfans Dusk67
  • Mode Envoy
  • Orbit65
  • Luminkey65
  • Dune65

If your case isn't listed here, it's worth checking the key layout and the daughterboard connector—many other 65% keyboards should be compatible.

Per-key RGB and modern connector

The PCB features per-key RGB LEDs — and can be configured using preset effects and scenes — individual LEDs and buttons cannot be controlled directly! For the daughterboard connection, the MK65MX uses a modern PicoMolex EZMate connector — more precise, smaller, and more reliable than classic JST connectors without causing interferences to the bottom of the keyboard.

QMK with VIA and VIAL — full customizability

The MK65MX runs on the proven QMK firmware (firmware source code will be released) and is both VIA and VIAL compatible. This lets you remap every single key, record macros, set up layers, and tailor the board exactly to your workflow — directly in the browser, without driver installation.
