MonacoKeys keycaps: our own keycap sets in PBT and ABS

The MK sets are our own designs. Three questions help you choose: which material, which layout and which colour scheme suit your board?

PBT dye-sub in Cherry profile

Most MK sets, such as MK Black on White, Black on Grey, Cocoa, Crime Scene, Dreams and Retro Beige, are PBT with dye-sub legends in Cherry profile. With dye-sub the colour is drawn into the material under heat, so the legends are very resistant to wear. Wall thickness is around 1.5 mm, and the surface feels more coarsely textured than many other sets.

ABS sets: Clear and White on Black

MK Clear is a transparent ABS set. MK White on Black is deliberately made from ABS with UV printing, because ABS shows a deeper black than PBT. How the two materials differ is explained in the guide PBT vs ABS.

German layout and KAP sets by MK

All current MK sets are available with ISO-DE keys, and you will find matching sets under keycaps with German layout. MonacoKeys also designed some KAP sets, such as KAP Grey Alert. They are double-shot PBT with 1.7 mm wall thickness and can be put together modularly from Base Kit, German Base Kit, Numpad Kit, Mac Kit and 40s Kit. The product page shows which kits a set offers.
