QK100 Mk2 – 98% tri-mode keyboard with dual screens

The QK100 Mk2 is built for everyday use: a 98% layout with a full numpad, an aluminium case with stainless steel elements, ready to go straight out of the box. Switches, keycaps and stabilisers come pre-installed – no build session required. Rather than playing it purely minimal, it brings along a set of controls and displays that actually do something day to day.

Dual-screen design

An interactive display and a dot-matrix panel sit in the top right of the case. The typing cat reacts as you type, and small typing games offer a break in between. You can set your own GIFs for the Dynamic Island, while the dot-matrix panel offers a choice of effects.

Touch bar & audio-reactive lighting

New in the Mk2: swipe left or right on the touch bar to adjust volume – quick, with no detour via key combinations. The audio-reactive lighting responds to sound and its colour can be adjusted via web driver.

External switches and buttons

Physical switches and buttons sit along the top edge of the case for the key toggles: switching between Windows and macOS, cycling between 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and wired, plus control over RGB lighting, the interactive display and the dot-matrix panel. All directly on the board, without going through software.

Battery & runtime

The 8000 mAh battery takes the guesswork out of wireless use. Depending on how you run it:

  • Lighting and displays off: over 800 hours
  • Display only: around 100 hours
  • Full RGB plus both displays: around 40 hours

Neo Oat switches

Neo Oat switches come pre-installed. They type smoothly and deliver a deeper sound profile. The frosted translucent nylon housing diffuses RGB more evenly, while the light spring weight keeps longer typing sessions comfortable.

ABS double-shot keycaps

The Cherry profile keycaps come from Owlab's own moulds and are double-shot moulded. A small amount of PBT is blended into the ABS, which counteracts the typical shine and improves durability.

Internal structure

Inside sits a multi-layer foam kit that reduces noise and vibration and cleans up the sound. Instead of a rigid plate mount, a PCB gasket structure is used, which together with the PP plate delivers a softer typing feel and a cleaner sound. The PCB is 1.2 mm thick with flex cuts – so the whole build is geared towards give.

Who is the QK100 Mk2 for?

The QK100 Mk2 is for anyone who wants a full-featured keyboard with a numpad but has neither the time nor the inclination for a build. The 98% layout saves noticeable desk space over a classic full-size board without giving up the number pad or function row – handy for anyone working with numbers who still needs room for the mouse. Tri-mode connectivity makes it a board for multiple devices, and the large battery removes the usual wireless compromises. And if you enjoy displays, a touch bar and reactive lighting, you get considerably more here than a plain input device.
