ANSI keycaps for the US layout

ANSI is the American standard layout and the most common one among custom keyboards. When you shop for ANSI keycaps, what matters most is that the key shapes fit your board.

How to recognise an ANSI board

• Enter: horizontal and 2.25u wide.
• Left Shift: one long 2.25u key with no extra key beside it.
• Backslash: 1.5u wide at the end of the Tab row.
• Right side: Alt instead of AltGr.

If your board has a tall Enter key and an extra key next to the left Shift, it is an ISO board. In that case you need a set with ISO keys.

US legends or German characters?

Does the set fit your board?
