MW Datenshi – Japanese for "fallen angel" – is inspired by a song from the Japanese band TUYU: Being low as dirt, taking what's important from me. Designer Minisofu took the colors from the end of the music video, where an angel becomes a fallen angel.
The alphas are off-white with a subtle purple hue and dark gray legends, the modifiers dark gray, with bold red on Esc, Enter, the arrow keys and the spacebar. The novelties carry the story on: wings, a halo, feathers, a bow and an umbrella, two angel motifs and a wide key with a sun motif.
Made from PBT using dye-sub printing: the legends are dyed deep into the material and won't wear off. PBT gives a deep, full sound. Cherry profile, manufactured by Milkyway Keys (MW). Compatible with all MX-style switches.
Good to know
- •Surface: finely textured – not quite as smooth as KAP, but less rough than SWG or PBTFans Double-Shot smootherrougher
- •PBT: usually develops shine more slowly than ABS – how fast also depends on the texture. In return PBT is a bit more sensitive to scratches, e.g. from tools or fingernails.
- •Dye-sub: the colour is dyed into a light keycap – legends don't rub off. Colours are usually not quite as intense as double-shot.
