Tofu 3.0 design language with two-tone character

The Tofu Pad consistently extends the design language of the Tofu60 3.0 and Tofu65 3.0 into the numpad format. Characteristic is the bold visual separation at the rear: an exposed rear accent splits the USB port face into two sections — enabling impressive two-tone color combinations reminiscent of classic Tofu boards. Minimalist, clean, and full of character at the same time — a statement piece for any desk.

Massive material variety for top case, bottom case, and weight

The Tofu Pad can be customized in nearly every detail. You freely choose:

• Top case material: Aluminum (anodized, e-coated, or RAW)
• Bottom case material: Aluminum, copper, or stainless steel (anodized, e-coated, RAW, textured, or sandblasted)
• Bottom weight material: Aluminum or copper
• Plate material: Carbon fiber, polycarbonate, aluminum, or FR4

The color palette ranges from classics like Anodized Black, Silver, Grey through colorful accents like Anodized Red, Pine Green, Light Blue, Deep Purple, Tiffany to specials like RAW (Transparent Anode), E-White, E-coating U9, PC Stonewash (Red, Black, Silver). Dual mounting system — top mount or PCB gasket mount

One of the Tofu Pad's biggest strengths: the versatile dual mounting system. You decide which typing feel you want — and can even switch between options:

• Top mount — classic, with firmer, precise bottom-out and direct resonance. Mounting points have been deliberately optimized to minimize hollowness and resonance — for a uniform, satisfying sound profile.
• PCB gasket mount — softer, bouncier, more flexible bottom-out with a "bouncy" character. Follows a similar support distribution to the top mount but is designed for maximum softness and flexibility.

Both mounting structures are included in the package — you can swap between them as desired, depending on what suits your current workflow.

Plateless build option for extreme flex

For those seeking maximum flex and an especially deep sound, the Tofu Pad can also be built plateless in combination with the solder PCB — meaning entirely without a plate. The result is an extremely flexible typing feel and a uniquely deep, warm sound profile not found in classic builds. A genuine specialty option for sound enthusiasts and modding lovers.

Integrated force-break system

Inside works a thoughtfully designed force-break system with specially shaped silicone pads that acoustically decouple individual case parts. The result: significantly less resonance, no metallic "case ping," and a clean, clearly defined sound — a detail you typically only find in significantly more expensive custom builds and that KBDfans has integrated here as standard.

Wired or dual-mode — you choose the connectivity

We offer the Tofu Pad with both PCB options:

• Wired PCB — available as solder version (for classic custom builders, also enables plateless build) or hot-swap version (for solder-free switch swaps). 1.6 mm FR4, with magnetic connectors and JSON support for AVA, VIAL, and VIA.
• Dual-mode PCB — KBDfans' first wireless PCB, powered by the ZMK firmware. Connects via USB-C or Bluetooth; thanks to the ultra-low-power architecture, a single 1000 mAh battery lasts over 6 months — a perfectly minimalist wireless setup without cable clutter on your desk mat.

Note: the dual-mode variant offers no 2.4 GHz wireless — only USB-C and Bluetooth. KBDfans deliberately chose this approach since Bluetooth covers the needs of the vast majority of users, and the ultra-low-power design is what enables the enormous battery life in the first place.

Full customizability via AVA, VIAL & VIA

Whichever PCB variant you choose — the Tofu Pad is compatible with three popular configuration tools:

• AVA — modern, browser-based configuration
• VIAL — open-source alternative with extensive features
• VIA — the well-known classic for fast configuration

This lets you remap every single key, record macros, set up layers, and configure the Tofu Pad either as a classic numpad or as a fully fledged macropad for specialized workflows (Photoshop shortcuts, video editing, streaming control, etc.).

Numpad or macropad — you choose the application

By default, the Tofu Pad is configured as a classic numeric keypad — perfect for spreadsheets, accounting, CAD work, or simply as a companion to a 60%, 65%, or TKL keyboard that lacks its own numpad. But thanks to full programmability, you can transform it into a macropad anytime, with layers for different applications, macro keys for frequent shortcuts, or dedicated app controls — similar to a Stream Deck, but with premium mechanical switches and a Tofu case.

An important note on consistency

Since the Tofu Pad and the Tofu TKL are different products from separate manufacturing batches, slight variations in color and dimensions can occur. So if you combine the Tofu Pad and Tofu TKL in the same color, small color nuances may be visible — this is normal due to production and not grounds for warranty claims.
