📄 Product Description
Evanthe – 65% Alice custom with 14 mm front height
The Evanthe is a compact Alice board by Teahouse that puts material use and production detail front and centre. The front stays deliberately simple – just a touch of the flower motif. The back, on the other hand, shows how much work went into the board: a textured bottom case, a raw machined weight over a mirror-polished backplate, plus intentionally placed case screws as a design element. Complex, yet well styled.

The Alice layout in a nutshell
In an Alice layout, the key field is split into two slightly angled halves – your hands rest in a more natural position, easing strain on wrists and shoulders. Unlike fully split keyboards, everything stays in one case, with two spacebars and a moderate adjustment period. The Evanthe brings the concept to a compact 65% format and is available with a WK or HHKB top case.

Slim profile: 14 mm front height
At 14 mm front height in the centre (16 mm at the sides) and a 7° typing angle, the Evanthe is one of the lowest-profile custom boards around – many users won't need a wrist rest at all. The low build has one technical consequence: there simply isn't room for PCB-mount stabilisers underneath the PCB, so the board exclusively supports plate-mount stabilisers. Matching Designer Studio plate-mount stabilisers are included with every kit from us.

The back: a material mix as a statement
The aluminium bottom case carries a machined texture, topped by a weight in raw machined stainless steel with visible tool marks – contrasting with the mirror-polished stainless steel backplate finished in silver PVD. The sandblasted PEI badge with its flower motif sets the final accent. Every screw sits in a deliberately chosen position and becomes part of the design.

Mounting: silicone or Poron gasket
The Evanthe is built as a gasket mount – and the choice is yours: both a set of silicone gaskets and a set of Poron gaskets are included. That lets you tune the typing feel right at build time, from slightly softer and more dampened to noticeably bouncier.
PCB & plate
The wired hot-swap PCB is 1.2 mm thick, built on a black core and VIAL compatible. The included PEEK plate – an ultra-high-performance plastic used in aerospace and medical applications – delivers a soft keystroke and a deep, muted sound profile. When ordering, pick the plate variant to match your backspace: 2U or split backspace.
Layout note: the Evanthe supports ANSI layouts (incl. split backspace, WK and HHKB). ISO is not supported.

Who is the Evanthe for?
The Evanthe is for anyone who wants to type more ergonomically without switching to a fully split board – the Alice layout is the comfortable middle ground with a manageable learning curve. The extremely low front also makes it interesting for anyone who prefers flat setups or works without a wrist rest. And if you value production detail, the elaborately designed back gives you a board that impresses well beyond the usual desk angle.
