Athena 75 – 75% aluminium custom with LCD display
The Athena 75 is the more compact successor to the Athena 1800: a full-aluminium 75% board that puts looks and material quality front and centre. It takes its name from the goddess Athena, whose companion – the owl – runs through the design. A new multi-function button on the front right places direct control exactly where it's quick to reach.
Case & design
The case is CNC-machined from 6063 aluminium and finished with zircon sandblasting. The bottom carries a fully engraved radial machined pattern: the staggered lines replicate owl feathers and give the underside a multi-dimensional depth. Finishes range from classic anodised to ultra-fine sprayed.
RAW anodized finish (optional)
For the RAW variants the usual sandblasting step is skipped to preserve the aluminium's natural metallic lustre. The subsequent anodisation emphasises the raw texture, making every piece unique. Note: RAW cases show visible tool marks, fine scratches and slight colour variation by nature of the process – this is expected and not a defect.
LCD display & multi-function button
The HD display holds up to five custom GIFs (128×128 pixels), which you can switch between instantly via hotkey or the bottom-right key – turning every boot-up into a personal showcase. The bottom-right area combines an integrated RGB strip with a multi-function badge key. It's pre-configured for GIF switching but can be mapped to any function. The module is machined from full aluminium and colour-matched to the bottom case.
Stainless steel internals
Both the internal weight bar and the internal cover plate are made from stainless steel with a machined texture. Even the hidden parts are precisely machined and polished – the quality carries right through to the inside. The added mass noticeably helps dampen vibrations.
Mounting & typing feel
The Athena 75 offers two mounting styles for different preferences:
- Optimised top mount: the mounting points are deliberately placed away from the spacebar area to minimise resonance and hollowness – for a more uniform, satisfying sound. Silicone dampeners additionally decouple the plate physically from the upper housing, stopping resonance conduction at its source.
- PCB silicone gasket mount: designed with a similar support distribution to the top mount but tuned for a maximally soft, bouncy and flexible typing feel.
Combined with the solderable PCB, the board can also be built plateless – the option for maximum flex and a particularly deep sound profile.
PCB options
All PCBs are 1.6mm thick (non-flex cut), use USB-C and support VIA, VIAL and AVA. Choose from a solder PCB, a hot-swap PCB or an RGB hot-swap PCB.
Important layout note: the plate of the plate-mount stabilizer version does not support ISO Enter, split backspace, 7U spacebar or split left shift. If you need any of these layouts – in particular ISO Enter for DE layouts – choose the version with PCB-mount stabilizers.
