The F8X is the collab between Geonworks and Nuxroskb – a TKL that continues the F series and turns its most distinctive component inside out: the weight in raw stainless steel or brass sits fully exposed instead of hiding inside the case.

Underneath runs the proven F1 structure with a new half sandwich / half gasket mount plus an isolated top mount – and broad PCB compatibility from our MK80MX to the +84 and Venom80. Fully built, it puts up to 3.8 kg on your desk.

Barebone kit – PCB and plate selectable in the configurator, switches, keycaps and stabilisers sold separately.

F8X – TKL custom by Geonworks × Nuxroskb

The F8X continues Geonworks' F series – designed by Nuxros in close collaboration with GEON himself. The idea was born in the Geon warehouse: at the sight of countless golden F1 weights stacked up like a mountain. That became the design's guiding question – why hide the weight inside the case when you can show it off? The F8X combines elements from the F1, F2 and +84 into a board of its own, with its massive weight stepping forward as a visible design element.

The weight as a statement

The exposed weight comes in two material variants: raw, uncoated stainless steel with visible machining character, or brass, sandblasted and clear coated. Both bring serious mass to the board – fully built, the F8X weighs around 3.7 kg (stainless steel) or 3.8 kg (brass). A board that sits planted on the desk and doesn't move a millimetre.

Layout

The F8X uses a classic F12 TKL layout – the standard function row up to F12, without an additional F13 key – and is available in WK or WKL.

Mounting: half sandwich / half gasket + top mount

Inside, the F8X stays true to the proven F1 structure but replaces its O-ring mounting with a newly developed system: the half sandwich / half gasket mount, combined with an isolated top mount. The goal: a softer, more flexible typing feel without giving up the sound signature the F1 is known for.

Important: the top mount works exclusively with the F8X plate – the F1 plate does not support top mount and can only be used in the sandwich/gasket configuration.

The feet have been completely redesigned too: the two front sections are raised to reduce sound transmission to the desk.

Broad PCB compatibility

The F8X is deliberately laid out as an open platform and compatible with many common TKL PCBs – including our MK80MX, the +84, Hiney TKL, Apollo TKL, Venom80 TKL, Galatea TKL F12 and Mechlovin' Infinity 87.5. F1 plates and PCBs fit as well (with the top-mount limitation mentioned above). If you already own a matching PCB, the case is all you need – alternatively, the F8X PCB (hot-swap or solder) and plate can be added right in the configurator.

Layout options of the dedicated F8X PCBs:

MK80MX – our own TKL PCB

The MK80MX is our H87/H88-compatible TKL PCB, built along the same lines as the MK60MX and MK65MX: hot-swap, wired, RP2040 chip, QMK firmware and freely remappable with VIA and VIAL.

  • Layouts: ISO and ANSI, 6.25u and 7u spacebar (WK and WKL), split left and right shift, split backspace
  • Lighting: per-key and underglow LEDs
  • Connection: break-away USB-C or optional daughterboard via Pico-Molex

Who is the F8X for?

The F8X is for fans of the Geon F series who love its sound character – and for anyone after a heavy, uncompromisingly solid TKL that visually stands out from the crowd. Thanks to its broad PCB compatibility it's also a flexible platform for anyone who already owns TKL PCBs or wants to evolve their board over the years. Between two mounting styles, two weight materials and free PCB choice, sound and typing feel can be tuned across a wide range.
