Silents done HMX style

These are silents done with an usual silicone inserts in stems for dampening, but they don't feel mushy at all, like some Akko or Outemu silents do. These still have classic HMX build and typing feel, with usual smoothness and a bit longer travel. Even better than the older HMX Sakuras. The only ones currently similar are the silent Blackberries. But the silicone is still there and if you want to avoid it at any cost, try the Toast (it even rhymes ;)

Meine absoluten Favoriten unter vielen getesteten Switches

Die Lulu Switches sind der perfekte Hybrid aus Silent und Thocky. Leise genug um niemanden mit Tippgeräuschen zu stören, aber besonders beim zurücksnappen machen sie ein sehr angenehmes dumpfes Geräusch. Die Bewegung ist sehr smooth und linear über die gesamte Länge beim Drücken. Ich habe mich für eine Mischung aus diesen, und etwas schwereren silent Tactiles für die Funktions- und Sondertasten (Ctrl, Shift, Enter, ...) entschieden, und bin damit sehr zufrieden.
Von meinen insgesamt 100 bestellten Lulu Switches kamen 2 unvollständig an (der transparente Einschub für das RGB Licht fehlte), was an sich nicht dramatisch ist, aber die switches ohne den Plastikeinschub verbiegen sich beim Rausheben so stark, dass ich sie nicht verwende.

My choice for quiet, but not silent, switches

After trying a bunch of silent switches, these are at a great spot between cool feedback and contained sound.

Be warned, the HMX Lulus are *not* as silent as the Outemu Peach, TTC Frozen, Akko Fairy and the likes. They are nonetheless significantly quieter than most of non-silent-branded switches on the market.

So if you want to make 0 noise, this is not the one. But if you only need acceptable noise for office work, this is totally an option.

The lack of complete silence comes with a big benefit: certainly one of the firmest bottom-out for this category of switches. If you are tired of the usual mushy feeling of silent switches, it's a breath of fresh air.

As for monacokeys, it's always the fastest to ship stuff to here in France, and for rather fair prices. Great shop!
