With us, you get the Athena 1800 with ISO wired hot-swap PCB, stainless steel cover plate, and three plate options to choose from.

96% (1800) layout — compact with everything you need

The 1800 layout is the ideal combination of functional range and desk economy: a complete main block, a numpad, F-row, and arrow/navigation cluster — all tightly packed into a compact format. You don't lose any functionality compared to a 100% keyboard but save valuable space for the mouse. With us, you get the full DE-ISO layout with all umlauts, ß, and the proper enter key — no workaround, no compromises.

Front facade with integrated LCD screen

The top case integrates a crystal-clear LCD screen directly into the clean 1800 layout line. The screen displays not only status info like Caps Lock and Scroll Lock but can also be fully personalized with custom GIF animations — upload any 128×128-pixel GIF of your choice via the official web tool and give your keyboard its own personality. Below sits a subtle light diffuser that adds an ethereal lighting accent.

The Owl's Gaze — owl on the underside

The real masterpiece reveals itself when you flip the keyboard over: across the entire underside stretches a finely engraved Athena owl. Piercing eyes, detailed feather work — a breathtaking composition that turns the Athena 1800 into a true statement piece. Top mount with PCB silicone gasket

The Athena 1800 features a thoughtful mounting construction: top mount delivers the classic, direct, firm typing feel with consistent feedback — perfect for those who appreciate a traditional, crisp typing experience. Additionally, the PCB is isolated from the case via PCB silicone gaskets, which cushion the bottom-out and produce a more dampened, "thocky" sound profile. The combination of firm top mount and soft PCB isolation delivers an exceptionally balanced typing feel — direct, but never harsh.

Stainless steel cover plate with toolpath engravings

Inside the Athena 1800 sits a substantial stainless steel cover plate combined with a stainless steel weight bar. This construction gives the keyboard exceptional heft and unique acoustic properties — the sound becomes deeper, fuller, more precisely defined. The highlight: the inner side of the cover plate features fine toolpath engravings — a texture of precise milling paths normally hidden but underscoring the Athena 1800's no-compromise engineering. Even though this detail isn't visible in everyday use, it speaks volumes about the quality philosophy behind the build.

Three plate options for three typing feels

The plate decisively influences typing feel and sound. We offer the Athena 1800 in three carefully tuned plate variants:

• Aluminum plate: Crisp, precise, and slightly firmer on bottom-out — sharper, more defined sound with a higher tonal profile. Classic mech typing feel with direct feedback.
• FR4 plate: Slightly softer than aluminum, with pleasant bounce and a slightly warmer sound profile — the balanced middle ground between firmness and comfort.
• PC plate (polycarbonate): Softest of the three options, bouncy and with a quiet, dampened sound profile — ideal for long typing sessions without fatigue.

Wired hot-swap PCB with VIAL support

The included 1.6 mm wired hot-swap PCB (non-flex cut) lets you swap switches anytime without soldering. The connection is via USB-C — direct, low-latency, and without battery worries. The PCB is VIAL compatible, so you can remap every key, program layers, and define macros. Caps Lock and Scroll Lock are visualized via the integrated RGB LCD indicator. The 1800-layout PCB fully supports the German ISO layout, of course.

POGO-pin connector and magnetic PCB connection

The LCD screen is connected to the mainboard via POGO-pin connectors, the PCB itself via magnetic connectors — no fiddly cables, no risk during disassembly. Switch swaps, foam modding, or complete builds are significantly more relaxed.

Premium materials & eleven color variants

The case is made from solid CNC aluminum with high-quality anodization or e-coating. The Athena 1800 is available in 11 color variants: Anodized Black, Dark Blue, Grey, Mocha, Pine Green, Silver, Dark Purple, Red, Pink, E-Coating White, and the untreated Raw variant. With a typing angle of 9° and a total weight of around 3 kg (fully built, with stainless steel cover plate), the Athena 1800 stands rock-solid on your desk.

Kit content — everything for a complete build

The Athena 1800 comes as a complete barebone kit with everything you need for a successful build — including force break tape, foam kit, screws, and tools. You just need to add your favorite switches, keycaps and stabilizers.
