📄 Product Description
MK65MXW — the tri-mode wireless variant of the MK65MX
The MK65MXW is the wireless sister PCB to the MK65MX — with identical layout flexibility, identical case compatibility, but with full tri-mode connectivity: wired via USB-C, wireless via 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth. This makes it possible to transform virtually any compatible 65% O-ring build from a classic wired setup into a modern wireless workflow system. Fully QMK compatible with VIA support. Designed by Quark.
Tri-mode connectivity
The MK65MXW connects three ways — flexibly adaptable to your workflow:
- USB-C wired — direct, low-latency connection
- 2.4 GHz wireless via receiver — wire-free with minimal latency, ideal for gaming
- Bluetooth — flexible for multi-device setups (tablet, laptop, smartphone)
The battery connection runs through the daughterboard — the clean, modular solution for wireless builds in O-ring cases.
Layout flexibility without compromise
The MK65MXW supports both ISO and ANSI layouts on a single PCB — with the same extensive multi-layout options as the wired version:
- ISO + ANSI layout support — perfect for DE-ISO, UK-ISO, or US-ANSI
- Split left shift + big ANSI left shift — flexible depending on keycap set
- Split backspace + regular backspace — for 65% layouts with tilde or backslash position
- Stepped capslock — for vintage and SA/MT3 keycap sets
- 6.25U and 7U spacebar — compatible with most spacebar sizes
Case compatibility
The MK65MXW has been tested with the same 65% cases as the wired variant — provided the case offers O-ring mounting, a standard 65% hole pattern, and a Unified C5 daughterboard connection.
✅ Tested compatible:
- Kraze
- Kafka
- Mode Sixtyfive R1 / 2021 (without silicone insert)
- Mode Sixtyfive R2 / 2025
- Mode Encore
- AIS65
- Block67 R2
- Keycult No1/65
- Keycult No2/65
- IRON165
- Haven65
- and most likely many more!
⚠️ Most likely compatible (untested):
- Krush65
❌ Tested incompatible:
- KBDfans Dusk67
- Mode Envoy
- Orbit65
- Luminkey65
- Dune65
If your case isn't listed here, check the hole pattern and daughterboard connection — many 65% O-ring builds use the same quasi-standard.
Per-key RGB and modern connector
The PCB features per-key RGB LEDs — each key individually configurable. For the daughterboard connection, the MK65MXW uses a modern PicoMolex EZMate connector — more precise, smaller, and more reliable than classic JST connectors. The daughterboard additionally hosts the battery connection.
QMK with VIA support
The MK65MXW runs on the proven QMK firmware (firmware source code will be released) and is VIA compatible. This lets you remap every single key, record macros, and set up layers — directly in the browser, without driver installation.
