The Neo65 Core Plus by Neo Studio is a 65% keyboard kit with an aluminium unibody case and a 3D brass internal weight. It mounts via PCB gaskets or an O-ring – the sound is bright and crisp, even without extra foam.

We offer it in seven colours, each with a tri-mode hot-swap PCB (USB-C, 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, batteries built in) or a wired hot-swap PCB, both for ANSI and ISO. You choose the plate: PP or aluminium.

Barebone kit: switches and keycaps are not included, stabilisers are.

Neo65 Core Plus – 65% with a brass weight

The Neo65 Core Plus builds on the Neo65: the same slim lines, but with a heavy 3D brass weight in the aluminium case, a reworked sound chamber and a PCB you can take out without cables or fiddling.

01 · Case

Unibody with slim bezels

Like the Neo65, the Core Plus has an aluminium unibody case with very slim side bezels – it fits any desk without shouting for attention. The side edge slopes inwards, which makes the board easier to pick up.

The anodising uses finer sandblasting than before, so the surface feels silky. Spark White is spray-coated with a subtle glitter.

02 · Weight and sound

Brass instead of foam

A heavy 3D brass weight with an engraved orbit logo sits in the bottom. It damps vibrations while you type and gives the board more mass than the original Neo65 – the case weighs 1.335 kg without PCB and plate.

Neo Studio tuned the sound chamber in the bottom with carefully placed openings so nothing echoes hollow. The result is a bright, crisp sound that stays clean even without extra foam. Foam is still included if you prefer it more muted.

03 · Mount

PCB gasket or O-ring

You get two mounting options. The PCB gasket mount with reshaped gaskets: a sloped slot spreads the pressure over the whole surface instead of one point, so the PCB rebounds evenly. The gaskets also make dropping PCB and plate into the case easier.

Or the O-ring mount with a 30-durometer O-ring – softer and rounder on bottom-out. The O-ring needs a plate.

04 · Lock-n-pull

PCB out in seconds

The daughterboard connects to the PCB magnetically via pogo pins – no cable that can tear when you take it apart. With the included tool you pull PCB and plate out of the case in one piece. Swapping switches, changing the plate, switching the mount: all done quickly.

05 · Configurations

Seven colours, tri-mode or wired

Every colour comes with either PCB. The tri-mode case has the batteries built in, the wired case has stainless steel fillers in their place – which is why the PCB is part of the variant. The weight is always brass.

06 · PCB and plate

Tri-mode or wired, PP or aluminium

Tri-mode hot-swap

USB-C, 2.4 GHz via the included dongle and Bluetooth. Two 2200 mAh batteries are built into the case.

Wired hot-swap

USB-C only – no batteries, no wireless.

Both PCBs are 1.6 mm without flex cuts, support ANSI and ISO, are VIA compatible and have NKRO. Switches go in without soldering – more on that in our guide Hot-swap keyboards.

PP plate

Soft and flexible, a deeper sound – more "thock".

Aluminium plate

Stiffer, brighter and crisper – more "clack". A slot above the spacebar absorbs impact so the spacebar feels like the rest of the keys.

You add the plate when you order – PP or aluminium. More plates are available as extras in the Neo65 Core Plus spare parts.

Who is the Neo65 Core Plus for?

For your first custom build

Hot-swap, a tool to pull the PCB, no cable on the daughterboard – you build without soldering or fiddling. ISO works just as well as ANSI.

For sound tinkerers

Two mounts, two plates, foam optional: tune the sound yourself, starting from a bright, clean base.

More boards in this size are in 65% keyboards. The Neo65 Core Plus is a barebone kit: you'll need switches and keycaps, NeoStab stabilisers are included.
