The Neo65 Core Plus is Neo Studio's latest evolution of the popular Neo65 Core series. Instead of relying on pure spec sheets, Neo Studio aligned every design decision with one question: How does this make your everyday better? The result is a 65% custom mechanical keyboard that's been noticeably refined in every detail — from the 3D copper bottom weight to the rethought acoustic chamber design and the lock-n-pull mechanism that makes switch swapping and modding tangibly easier. A keyboard built equally for quiet late-night typing sessions and intense gaming matches.

Unibody aluminum case with minimalist design

Like its predecessor Neo65, the Core Plus features a unibody case with ultra-slim side bezels that integrate seamlessly into any setup. The inward-sloping side edge is more than just a design element — it makes lifting and handling the keyboard significantly more pleasant. On the underside sits a redesigned 3D copper bottom weight with engraved orbit logo, anchoring the keyboard both visually and functionally.

 

3D copper bottom — solid heft without foam

The substantial 3D copper bottom weight is the heart of the Core Plus's acoustic character. It dampens unwanted vibrations directly at the source and creates a delightfully solid, "planted" typing characteristic compared to the predecessor. The best part: this acoustic profile is achieved completely foam-free — no plate foam, no case foam, no tape mods needed. The result is a clear, transparent "key-on-case" sound where every keystroke comes through pure and unfiltered. With the copper weight, the keyboard weighs approx. 1.42 kg (without PCB and plate) — solid stability guaranteed.

Acoustic performance you can hear

The Core Plus takes things further by perfecting the sound chamber design in the bottom case. Resonance principles and precisely placed ports eliminate hollow echoes and reflective frequencies. Compared to the deeper tonality of a copper-bottom variant like the Neo65 Cu, the aluminum top variant creates a brighter, livelier tone — every keystroke feels refreshing and defined.

Upgraded plates with strategic slot

Both plate materials — aluminum and PP (polypropylene) — have been redesigned for the Core Plus. A newly introduced strategic slot above the spacebar absorbs impact energy, reduces collision noise and wobble, and improves plate flexibility. The result: a noticeably more consistent typing feel between the spacebar and the rest of the keys — no more "hard" spacebar bottom-out that falls out of the sound profile.

We offer the Core Plus in two plate variants:

• Aluminum plate: Crisp, precise, and slightly firmer on bottom-out — sharper, more defined sound with a higher tonal profile
• PP plate (polypropylene): Softer, bouncier feel with a deeper, "thocky" sound profile

Dual-mounting system with upgraded gaskets

The Core Plus supports two different mounting systems you can choose based on preference:

• PCB gasket mount — direct, balanced typing feel with precise feedback
• Gummy O-ring mount — softer, bouncier bottom-out with extra dampening (not compatible with plateless configuration)

The specially designed gaskets make installing the PCB-plate assembly into the case significantly easier than with classic custom builds. The sloped slot of the gaskets distributes pressure evenly across the entire surface instead of concentrating it at one point — providing consistent, cushioned rebound with every keystroke.

Lock-n-pull mechanism + magnetic pogo-pin connectors

One of the most significant improvements over the original Neo65: the Core Plus now has a pogo-pin connector with lock-n-pull mechanism. This allows the PCB to be removed quickly without risking damage to the daughterboard cable — a common pain point of the original Neo65. Combined with the included PCB/plate puller tool, switch swaps, foam modding, or complete builds are significantly more relaxed than before.

Tri-mode hot-swap PCB with multilayout support

The Neo65 Core Plus comes with the most versatile PCB option: the tri-mode hot-swap PCB (1.6 mm non-flex cut). Swap switches without soldering and connect three ways:

• USB-C (wired, 1000 Hz polling rate)
• 2.4 GHz wireless via dongle (1000 Hz polling rate)
• Bluetooth (125 Hz polling rate)

Full QMK/VIA compatibility lets you remap every key, program layers and macros, and tailor the keyboard precisely to your workflow. NKRO ensures every keystroke registers. The PCB is multilayout capable and supports both ANSI and ISO layouts — you decide what fits you during the build. The 2.4 GHz dongle is included.

Craftsmanship elevated

Neo Studio reworked the anodization process for the Core Plus: with a higher mesh count during sandblasting, an ultra-fine, silky finish emerges that you can feel from every angle and at every touch. The spray-coated variant Spark White contains a subtle micro-glitter effect — a subtle but special detail.
