📄 Product Description
The Nuxros KeySnap, created in collaboration between Nuxros and Geonworks, is an elegant alternative to the rubber O-ring mount and introduces a brand-new mounting style to your keyboard. KeySnap elements sit between PCB and plate – firmly and evenly gripping both components, which noticeably changes both sound and typing feel.
Why KeySnap?
If you're not happy with the mounting of your current keyboard – whether in terms of sound or typing feel – KeySnap is a flexible, modular retrofit solution. KeySnap reduces the hollow sound common to many builds, delivers a more solid, fuller sound profile, and makes assembly and disassembly significantly easier thanks to its firm grip on plate and PCB.
Highlights
- New mounting style as an alternative to the classic O-ring mount
- Reduced hollow sound profile – fuller, more solid acoustics
- Easier assembly as KeySnap firmly connects plate and PCB
- Tunable typing feel depending on the material (silicone or FKM)
- Usable as a plateless mount kit for many boards
Material Options
- Silicone 70A (gray): Versatile, compatible with hot-swap, soldered, and HE PCBs
- Silicone 50A (blue): Softer, more flex – for a more compliant typing feel
- FKM 70A (black): Firmer, more controlled – best suited for soldered and HE PCBs
Compatibility & Installation Notes
- KeySnap was primarily designed for HE keyboards and soldered PCBs.
- With hot-swap PCBs, the fit against the sockets can be very tight – we recommend the silicone version here. With FKM, do not use more than 2 pieces on the top side.
- Important during installation: KeySnap must not overlap the marked areas shown in the datasheet, otherwise the case and PCB will interfere with each other.
- Before buying, please check compatibility for your board – KeySnap has only been fully tested with a limited set of keyboards (unlike PCBsnap, which is broadly compatible).
