📄 Product Description
The Nuxros PCBsnap – developed in collaboration between Nuxros and Geonworks – is a thoughtful alternative to the classic O-ring cord mount and brings fresh ideas into the custom keyboard mounting space. Instead of a single continuous rubber cord, individual PCBsnaps attach directly to the PCB and sit where the O-ring posts of an O-ring mount keyboard run.
What Makes PCBsnap Special?
One of the most common issues with O-ring mounted boards: the spacebar often sounds muffled and "choked", because the O-ring cord sits too tightly right under the spacebar. PCBsnap solves this by opening up the spacebar region. The result is a more open, clearer, and fuller sound – especially under the spacebar.
Highlights
- Drop-in replacement for O-ring cords in O-ring mounted keyboards
- Better spacebar acoustics thanks to the open design under the spacebar
- Compatible with screw-in stabilizers – something that isn't possible with O-ring cords
- Usable as a plateless mount kit for virtually any O-ring mount keyboard
- Typing feel can be tuned individually depending on the material (silicone or FKM)
Material Options
- Silicone (gray / yellow / blue, depending on hardness): Versatile, compatible with hot-swap, soldered, and HE PCBs
- FKM (black, Viton): Firmer, more controlled – ideal for soldered PCBs and cases with about 0.9–1 mm clearance between PCB and case wall
Compatibility Notes
- For hot-swap PCBs, we recommend the silicone variant – the FKM version should be used in no more than 2 pieces on the top side.
- For FKM, do not use more than 3 pieces on the top and bottom edges of the PCB.
- PCBsnap differs from Keysnap in that it's compatible with virtually any O-ring mount keyboard – while Keysnap only works with a select few boards.
- 100% tested compatibility: Krush65, Sebas, Dune65, Cloudline, ECV1, ECV2.
- Compatibility check for other boards: Place the PCB in the case and center it. If the gap between the PCB edge and the case wall is about 0.5–1 mm, PCBsnap should work.
