The Smurve80 Lume Edition is the second round of the Smurve80 – the first mass-produced MX keyboard with a genuinely curved injection-moulded case, inspired by the IBM Model M. New is the semi-translucent, frosted case in First Light or Last Night: the internals show through softly blurred, and the RGB spills out as a gentle glow.

Inside: gasket mount, aluminium plate, hot-swap, south-facing RGB, a built-in solenoid module for typewriter-style feedback and tri-mode (USB-C, 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth) with an 8000 mAh battery.

The Lume Edition comes fully assembled in ANSI – switches (three to choose from) and keycaps are pre-installed, plus a grey coiled cable and the Glint Key.

Smurve80 Lume Edition – the curved keyboard in a frosted case

The Smurve80 is the first mass-produced mechanical keyboard with a genuinely curved injection-moulded plastic case, built for MX switches.

It takes its cue from the IBM Model M, but it isn't a replica – it's a modern take: retro shape, comfortable ergonomics and current tech in one board.

01 · Lume Edition

A case you can see into

Inspired by the translucent handheld consoles many of us grew up with, the Lume Edition wraps the Smurve80 in a semi-translucent case with a frosted finish. You can just make out the components inside, softly blurred as if through mist.

Turn on the south-facing RGB and the light spills out from beneath the keycaps in a soft, hazy glow.

02 · Colours

First Light or Last Night

The Lume Edition comes in two colours – both with the same semi-translucent case.

First Light

Frosted clear case with clear keycaps.

Last Night

Smoked, see-through dark case with black keycaps.

03 · Curve

Smile + Curve

The name Smurve combines Smile and Curve: the gentle bend of the board looks like a subtle smile, and that's the point – comfortable and familiar, no gimmick.

The curve is more than looks, though. The sculpted surface follows a shallow arc that matches the natural position of your hands and makes long typing sessions easier.

04 · Tech

Solenoid, tri-mode and hot-swap

Under the retro case sits current tech: gasket mount with an aluminium plate, a hot-swap PCB and south-facing RGB.

Solenoid: typewriter-style feedback

Inside the case sits a solenoid module – a small electromagnet that adds a knock you can feel and hear as you type, much like a typewriter. It gives the Smurve80 a rhythm of its own that flat standard boards don't have.

Tri-mode with an 8000 mAh battery

Connect via USB-C, 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth. Wired and 2.4 GHz run at a 1000 Hz polling rate, Bluetooth at 125 Hz. The battery lasts 23.5 to 40 hours with all lights on and 266 to 320 hours with lights off. VIA compatible, works with Windows and macOS.

05 · Switches

Three switches to choose from

The switches are factory lubed and pre-installed. Thanks to hot-swap, you can move to other MX switches any time.

06 · Layout

6.25u or 7u: choose when you order

Because of the PCB routing, the two bottom rows need different PCBs – you can't swap them later. So pick your layout when you order.

07 · Fully assembled

Unbox and start typing

The Lume Edition is assembled at the factory – switches and keycaps are already on. Thanks to hot-swap, you can still change switches and keycaps whenever you like.

Please keep it closed

The keyboard is meant to be used as delivered. Opening or disassembling the case voids the warranty. Manufacturing defects and electronic failures not caused by handling are covered for 1 year.
