TOFU TKL × PBTfans Lucy
The TOFU TKL × PBTfans Lucy is a special edition of the TOFU TKL built around the Lucy theme, with moon and space motifs. The overall shape is the familiar TKL, with a few distinct edition details on top — the screen module above all.
Case
The case is two-toned: anodized silver paired with anodized deep purple. The front edges are fully polished (high-gloss chamfer), so they catch the light at an angle and break up the otherwise plain silhouette a little. On the underside sits a stainless steel weight with a PVD mirror finish; the look comes from a mix of laser engraving and chemical etching.
Screen Module
The most eye-catching feature is a front-facing screen module in the top-right. It shows matching graphics in real time as you type, with an RGB lightbar underneath. The module is modular and can be removed — without the screen, you're back to a clean, traditional 80% TKL.
Mounting
The keyboard can be built two ways:
- PCB silicone gasket: a similar support distribution to the top mount, but softer and more flexible to type on.
- Top mount: the mounting points sit deliberately away from the spacebar area, which makes for a more even sound.
PCB & Plate
Included is a 1.6 mm wired hot-swap PCB in FR4 with a magnetic connector, supporting AVA, VIAL and VIA — so switches can be swapped without soldering. It comes with a black aluminum plate. The board supports both ISO and ANSI layouts, each in WK and WKL.
Layout & Bottom Case Plate
There are two bottom case plates to choose from: PVD Text (Lucy lettering) or PVD Portrait (artwork motif). The keycaps shown in the product photos are from the matching PBTfans Lucy R2 set — but those keycaps are not part of the barebone and are sold separately.
Who is the TOFU TKL × PBTfans Lucy for?
It suits anyone after a TKL who wants a board with a bit more character without giving up a solid, heavy base (up to 3.5 kg fully built). The screen module is more of a fun extra than a necessity — the handy part is that you can remove it and have a perfectly normal, clean TKL. If you like tinkering, you get hot-swap, two mounting options and VIA/VIAL support.
Note: The TOFU TKL × PBTfans Lucy is a barebone kit. Switches, keycaps and stabilizers are not included and are available separately. The PCB, aluminum plate, both mounting options and the chosen bottom case plate are included.
